Our Chartership Academy

Once again, G&T supported the Apprentice of the Year Award at the 2023 RICS Young Surveyor of the Year Awards, championing future changemakers and celebrating their contribution to the sector. G&T Project Manager, Stephanie O'Dwyer, who won the award in 2022, was on hand to present the award to this year's winner.

During 2023 we welcomed 10 apprentices to our Chartership Academy who began their journey towards professional qualification. As well as our apprenticeship pathway, we have routes for graduates and career changers and during the year we also welcomed 50 graduates, 5 year out placements, 13 summer students and 70 work experience candidates.

We were proud to lead the Trailblazer Group for Apprenticeships in Surveying launched in 2015, with the aim of opening up the profession to the brightest talent from all socio-economic backgrounds.

The apprenticeship route allows us to welcome a diversity of candidates to the programme as they embark on their journey toward academic qualification and professional accreditation with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or an equivalent.

We sponsor the students through their academic qualifications and provide them with support and mentoring during their studies. The students spend 20% of their time at college or university and the remainder doing the job in the office, at meetings and on-site, putting the theory into practice. They often achieve their APC in the same timeframe as the graduates but have no student debt at the end.
