New state-of-the-art stadium for The Toffees

© Everton Football Club

Everton Football Club, one of English football’s founding members, will move from its historic Goodison Park home to a new 52,888-capacity stadium on the banks of the River Mersey.

The South Stand, a large, steep structure that can accommodate 13,000 passionate Everton supporters, features a unique glass-walled concourse that looks back into the heart of the city of Liverpool, with the lower tier - and the away section in the eastern corner of the North Stand - providing rail seating, allowing for safe standing areas, in line with current legislation.

The eastern elevation is home to a vibrant plaza that will enhance the matchday experience, and serve as a multifunctional venue for community events, concerts and various gatherings on non-matchdays, ensuring year-round use and engagement. The Grade II Listed Hydraulic Tower and Engine House, which looms over The Plaza, has also been painstakingly restored to its former glories.

The West stand, which houses many of the hospitality spaces, also features a spectacular tiered terrace that overlooks the River Mersey alongside a cleverly constructed waterway that re-links the docks and, critically, serves to top-up the water channel that serves the Leeds-Liverpool Canal.
