Reducing energy consumption through modernisation
Addressing emissions produced by heating and powering existing buildings
Reducing energy consumption through modifications to the buildings and surrounding infrastructure, combined with transitioning to renewable energy sources, will be necessary to meet the university's net zero ambitions.
The urban location, together with numerous Listed buildings, limits the potential for generating substantial amounts of renewable energy on campus. Therefore, the majority of this energy will need to be sourced off-site.
G&T is actively supporting the university on several projects, including the replacement of outdated infrastructure in various buildings, securing increased electrical supply to the campus through the installation of new substations and carrying out multiple refurbishments.
