Transforming
UK Healthcare delivery

Boosting market capacity and standardising design

The New Hospitals Programme (NHP) is a £20bn national endeavour with the ambition to deliver healthcare projects at unprecedented speed and scale, using modern construction methods and creating lasting capabilities.

G&T is part of a consortium of companies led by KPMG, appointed to act as the Interim Commercial Partner (ICP) on the NHP.

To realise the programme's ambition, NHP needed to generate additional market capacity and attract the calibre of organisations from across the supply chain that will deliver on the NHP's aims.  The ICP has supported NHS England to raise the profile and understanding of the programme, to analyse and build market capacity and to gather insights to help NHP improve incentives, risk-sharing and project standardisation.

This has led to NHP attracting a number of potential new companies with the capability and capacity sought to bid and in turn deliver major projects across England for the programme.  This is supporting NHS England to drive increased competition, supporting delivery acorss NHS Trusts.
