NeuConnect Interconnector

NeuConnect Interconnector

Helping to provide a more secure and sustainable electricity supply

Sharing surplus renewable energy

NeuConnect is one of the first privately financed interconnector projects which will enable up to 1.4GW of electricity to flow in either direction between the UK and Germany - enough to power 1.5 million homes.

Around 725km of HVDC (high-voltage direct current) land and subsea cables will travel through British, Dutch and German waters and terminate into two new converter stations creating an 'invisible highway' between the two countries.

The project is expected to create over £1.7bn in UK consumer benefits and could deliver a net reduction in carbon emissions of over 13MtCO2 over 25 years.

G&T is handling the contract administration for the complex EPC contracts related to the converters and cables. We helped the project reach financial close by ensuring all EPC contractual obligations were met on time. We have supported the project from the design phase and are now overseeing the construction phase. Additionally, G&T provided the UK delivery manager during the early enabling works.
