Neuconnect Interconnector

NeuConnect Interconnector is the first privately financed interconnector project which will enable up to 1.4GW of electricity to flow in either direction between the UK and Germany – enough to power 1.5 million homes over the life of the project.

Around 725km of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) land and subsea cables will travel through British, Dutch and German waters and terminate into two new converter stations creating an 'invisible highway' between the two countries.

By sharing surplus renewable energy, which would otherwise be lost, the interconnector will help provide a more secure, diverse and sustainable supply.
