State-of-the-art campus replaces four schools
Situated on the former Carrick Academy site, the new campus offers state-of-the-art learning spaces accommodating up to 1,370 children and young people. The project was part of the first phase of the Scottish Government's £1 billion schools investment programme.
This 'super school' provides a comprehensive educational experience, offering secondary, primary and early years education. It also includes shared community facilities, such as a swimming pool and all-weather sports pitches.
Funding for the campus was partially provided through the Learning Estate Investment Programme (LEIP). LEIP projects are designed with a strong focus on energy efficiency, aiming for an energy target of 67 kWh/sqm per annum for core facilities. Other key goals include advancing digital learning, ensuring high-quality educational environments and promoting economic growth.
